The Islamic Design period was that was full of elaborate architecture and amazing feats. Mohammed is the figure head in Islamic Religion. Mohammed Lived from 570-632 C.E. Islamic Religion is the foundation of Islamic design. The Islamic culture was spread through three continents, Africa, Europe and Asia. Design varied according to region. the Mosque is the central facility for prayer and worship. Features of the mosque were perimeter wall, covered hall and courtyard. A big icon of Islamic design was the horseshoe arch. other patterns in architecture was textiles such as carpets. The Mosque of Sultan Ahmed is one of the famous pieces architecture in the Islamic period the interior is covered over 20,000 hand made tiles, over 50 different tulip designs and 200 stained glass windows. the walls looked like carpets and decorations is are just patterns there is no symbolism behind it.
