Byzantine

The Byzantine era was from 330-1453 C.E. The Byzantine culture were way head of their time. They created architectural marvels. The creation of the Pendentive which was a new way of supporting a dome with a square base. The most incredible architecture created by the Byzantine culture is the Hagia Sophia. The central designed basilica is the most amazing example of Byzantine architecture. this massive building shown below only took 5 years and without vase resources. Where as the Notre Dam cathedral took a century to build. They Byzantine people were also very into mosaic tiles and mosaic art.
