Early Christian

The early Christian Era Was between the times of 330-800 C.E. The main development of this time was the christian religion. Before this time Christianity was thought to be an abomination and people that were found guilty of practicing the faith of Christianity were persecuted. The emperor Constantine was the first to recognize Christianity as a valid religion in 313 C.E. in the beginning the early Christians met in homes or existing buildings but they soon grew out of those spaces and looked to make new facilities. They came up with a structure called eh basilica, it was designed as a place of worship that looked like a cross a long alley called a navel on either side of the navel are the aisle the entrance is the Northex and the head of basilica is the Apse and on either side of that are the transept. The Early Christians started the movement for the great cathedrals we have today.
