The postmodernism movement began in 1897 and lasted until 1959. During this design movement there were two sub movements. they were the Vienna sessions and the Deutscher werkbund. they were similar but both had their own flair. Deutscher Werkbund Movement set the stage for the international style and the art deco style. they also worked as a collaboration with their designers and manufactures to improve competitiveness in German design. The Vienna secession began in Vienna Austria around the same time as the Deutscher Werkbund. This movement made world wide advances in Arts, history, psychology and philosophy. they held a great interest in culture and design. some major designers during this time were olbrich, klimt, wagner and loos.
