De Pree and his father-in-law, Herman Miller, purchased 51% of the company stock in 1923 and renamed it the Herman Miller Furniture Company. Peer Review Art Deco

This week I reviewed Ashley i thought that she did a great job at talking about the elements of design. And i thought that she also had really good examples from the time period.
I also reviewed Katie L I thought that she did a good job explaining how the movement started and I also liked that she used furniture as her examples

international movement

The international movement had four main architects Walter Gropius, Lugwig Mies van der Rohe, Le cobusier and Frank Lloyd Wright. I am going to focus on Mies van der Rohe. Mies van der Rohe was a geramn architect who was famous for his exhibitions especially the Barcelona Exhibition of 1929. when Nazi Germany was taking over Mies van der Rohe had to relocated to America in 1937. He settle in Chicago. Where he was the head of the archtectural program at the illinois institude of technology. He made modernism more mainstream in the United States. He also coined the phrases "less is More" and 'God is  in the details". Some of Mies van der Rohe's more famous works or the barcelona chair and the Fransworth house.
